Mercies, Motherhood, and Miracles
Motherhood is a journey filled with joy, exhaustion, laughter, and tears. It’s a calling that stretches the heart in ways you can’t even imagine until you’re in it.
But through the highs and lows, one thing remains constant—God’s mercy is woven into every hard, humbling, holy moment.
Seeing God’s Hand in Everyday Moments
It’s easy to get caught up in the rush of daily life - checking off to-do lists, making meals, running around and taking care of kids. But in the middle of the ordinary, God is there; working, and blessing us in ways that are easy to overlook.
Each and every day is a gift, filled with moments where we can see His hand at work if we take the time to notice. The laughter of a child. The fresh blooms of spring. A text from another mom, just checking in.
Amongst the mundane and insane that is motherhood - He is filling our lives with good things.
Mercies: Grace for Every Minute
Motherhood often feels like a balancing act, and some days, we fall short.
We lose our patience, we question our strength, and we wonder if we’re doing enough.
Sometimes, I even wonder if I’m enough.
Between working, keeping up the house, a rambunctious almost-4-year-old and a new baby, a dog, and dance classes - there’s always something that needs to get done, and there’s always someone that needs me.
Sometimes, I’m pouring from an empty cup.
But God’s mercies are new every morning (Lamentations 3:22-23). He meets us in our mess, offering grace for every mistake and strength for every challenge.
Each sunrise is a reminder that no matter what yesterday held, today is a fresh start.
His mercies are new every day.
God’s love is not based on our perfection but on His faithfulness. In moments of frustration or exhaustion, we can lean into His mercies and trust that He fills in the gaps where we fall short.
Motherhood: A Holy and Humbling Calling
Motherhood is more than a role - it’s a ministry.
It’s shaping hearts, planting seeds, and nurturing the mind, body, and spirit of the next generation. Whether you’re soothing a crying baby, guiding a teenager through hard and heavy choices, or praying over your grown children, your love is a reflection of God’s unconditional, unfailing love for us.
It’s easy to feel unseen in the routine of daily life—changing diapers, making meals, and doing so.much.laundry.
But in those small moments, you are fulfilling a hard and holy calling.
Jesus loved the little ones, saying, “Let the little children come to me” (Matthew 19:14).
The work of a mother may sometimes go unnoticed in the world, but it is fully seen by God. And it matters for eternity.
Miracles: Finding God in the Everyday
Motherhood is full of miracles, big and small.
From the first heartbeat of a baby to the moments when God answers a mother’s prayer, His fingerprints are all over this journey.
Sometimes the greatest miracles aren’t these grand, supernatural events but, the small, simple, sacred moments, like..
-
A child whispering their first prayer.
-
Strength you didn’t think you had on (another) sleepless night.
-
An unexpected answer to a silent prayer.
-
Help from a family member or friend.
-
A cup of coffee that you get to drink while it’s actually hot.
God is present in all of it. And when we take a step back, we realize that motherhood itself is a miracle—the ability to love so deeply, to shape lives, and to keep going when you’re running on fumes.
It’s His power and our purpose. A beautiful reminder that we can do hard things with Him who gives us strength.
Embracing the Journey
If you ever feel overwhelmed, remember: God’s mercies sustain you, His calling equips you, and His miracles surround you.
You are not alone in this journey. He sees you. He walks with you; guiding, strengthening, and reminding you that your work is sacred.
Motherhood is beautiful.
It’s challenging, rewarding, messy, and unpredictable.
God created you for a moment such as this (Esther 4:14) and gave you this life because with Him, you’re strong enough to live it.
